Patricia Riggen was born June 2, 1970 in Guadalajara, Mexico and is a
Mexican film director. She is best known for directing the 2007 film Under
the Same Moon and the 2011 Disney Channel original film Lemonade Mouth.
Patricia gained experience in journalism and writing for documentaries
before later moving to New York City, where she received her Master's
degree in direction and screenwriting at Columbia University. Her first
short film, The Cornfield, received twenty international awards, including
the Student Academy Award. Her documentary Family Portrait won the Jury
Prize at Sundance in 2005.
